What Are Zero Turn Lawn Mowers
The reality is that people love a well-manicured, well-kept lawn. However, many of these same people may not be so enamored with the work it takes to get the lawn looking like they want. Even those who love tending to their lawn will eventually reach a point where enough is enough.
To this end it has become necessary for consumers to be able to purchase machines that make upkeep on their lawns as quick and as painless as possible while netting them a good-looking lawn. There have been many lawnmowers that have come along to handle this task and the most recent products are known as zero turn lawn mowers.
These zero turn mowers are normally sit down type, however some can be stand-up self-propelled or push mowers. What makes them truly unique is that these particular mowers break with tradition in that the steering is done with the rear wheels instead of the front wheels. This means that maneuverability is increased thereby making it more possible to get a near complete cut job with the mower alone.
Another advantage with zero-turn mowers is their actual size. Typically, they will be much larger than your standard push mowers and are also a little bit bigger than normal riding mowers. Initially they were used primarily for commercial use only. Companies like Dixie Chopper, Grasshopper, and Husqvarna were the first to introduce commercial models and these mowers helped professional landscaping companies make short work of large areas. Eventually, this type of mower filtered down to residential usages as well. Today, manufacturers like John Deere, Snapper, Cub Cadet, Bad Boy and others all have zero-turn mowers in their product lines. Whether you are a professional landscaper and time is money and you want a mower that can do a good job quickly so that you can move on to the next job, or you just want your own lawn to look good without spending endless hours on it, zero turn lawn mowers are the way to go. With a precision and speed that cannot be matched by any other mower, these zero-turn units are a great value.
